"There was 10 seconds of being nervous about whether or not I was still going to be on it," Tulloch explained. Tulloch recalled that they told her their idea was basically that because Juliette was so out of control with her Hexenbiest power, Hadrian's Wall - with the help of Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) - would kidnap her by using tranquilizer darts and break and beat her into submission to "basically be a fighting machine for Hadrian's Wall to suppress Black Claw." The intent was always to make fans think that Juliette was gone for good, but showrunners Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt knew from the get-go how and why they would be bringing Tulloch back. The return of Tulloch to Grimm was a tightly-kept secret on the production. Though Juliette was seemingly killed in the Season 4 finale, she popped up again in the Season 5 midseason finale with a new platinum bob wig and an impressive control of her powers.

And that sort of trust would require Juilette to actually tell Rosalie and Trubel about her powers. The actress, who portrayed the veterinarian who went from Nick's (David Giuntoli) love interest to the show's Hexenbiest Big Bad, hopped on the phone to discuss her return to the NBC drama. This needed more friendship and more bonding. Especially in that last season where she get weakened, almost turns hexenbiest all the time, loses her powers, and then decides she likes them so Diana, a child, gives them back. One of the biggest, missed opportunities of this show was to actually show Juilette being that kick ass and all-powerful hexenbiest that they promised. Those which were amplified by this magic doodad that was apparently just a rock. Of course, Juilette beat Latimer with her big bad hexenbiest powers. (Well, we can argue just how popular Grimm is.)

They should try to make better comic books, instead of just making money off popular properties. This is a mistake that they should’ve caught and cared enough to fix. I want to be clear that I rest the blame for this error on Dynamite’s editorial team. Often those quality issues are related to the art work. They always have quality issues in their books. This is the problem I have with Dynamite. Holy crap, in this issue, there’s a scene where they are discussing how they have to rescue Trubel, and Trubel is in the scene with them! She even has dialog! (I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be Adalind.) This hexenbiest mystery is way more interesting, and I don’t understand why a non-hexenbiest (Latimer) would even want this hexenbiest power booster.
GRIMM HEXENBIEST POWER LEVEL TV
I get that Kittredge has to work with what the TV show gave her, but this isn’t navigating those issues well.Īlso, no one cares about Latimer. So here’s the thing, what motivation does Dina have for not telling Trubel, when they are handcuffed to the radiator together, that Juliette isn’t human? How would Adalind not feel the power of two hexenbiest fighting each other in the circle? But it seems to me that too much of this plot has to hinge on Rosalie and Trubel not knowing that Juliette is now a hexenbiest. I cannot recall if Adalind knows that Juliette is a hexenbiest at this point or not. Well, besides Juliette fighting Dina, the hexenbiest leader, in an ancient hexenbiest battle circle. Instead of Adalind being captured by the hexenbiests, here Trubel gets kidnapped by the mobster Latimer and his men. Especially since this issue didn’t move the plot a lot. So one issue to wrap this entire storyline up. Comic book reviews for Grimm #4 and Grimm #5 by Caitlin Kittredge and Maria Sanapo
